Biografía:

Pradeep Kumar Choudhury is a faculty of Economics of Education at the Zakir Husain Centre for Educational Studies (ZHCES), School of Social Science, JNU. Prior to this he worked as an Assistant Professor in the Institute for Studies in Industrial Development (ISID), New Delhi and also as a Research Fellow in Public Health Foundation of India (PHFI), New Delhi. Dr Choudhury has completed his Post Graduation in Economics from University of Hyderabad and Ph.D. in Economics of Education from National University of Educational Planning and Administration (NUEPA). His research interests include Economics of Education, Educational Inequality, Education and Health, and Applied Econometrics. He teaches economics of education and quantitative techniques to M.Phil. and PhD students in ZHCES, JNU. Some his works are published in Economic and Political Weekly, Asia and the Pacific Policy Studies (Wiley), Higher Education for the Future (Sage), Journal of Educational Planning and Administration (NUEPA). He has presented some of his works in different international conferences held outside India. Currently he is engaged in a study (sponsored by ICSSR) that aims to examine the issue of inequality in educational opportunities in India and also looking at the issue of education market and parental choice for schools using India Human Development Survey (IHDS) data.
