I have a passion for HIV and AIDS research, specifically adolescent and young people with HIV. Of late I started working on fertility issues among HIV positive individuals. Marriage and fatherhood issues are also of interest to me.

Biografía:

Ms Rebecca Kubanji holds an MSc in Medical Demography from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. She is a lecturer in the Department of Population Studies at the University of Botswana. She has published and presented at international conferences in the areas of alcohol use among HIV positive individuals, HIV positive adolescents, nuptiality and fertility and sexual health practices of HIV+ individuals. Ms Kubanji has been a member of the University of Botswana Socio- Behavioural Institutional Review Board from 2016 to date. She has worked in teams that collaborated with US researchers on NIH-funded behavioural HIV research studies, and published from those works. In 2018, she also engaged in research work in collaboration with a Nagel Project on 'The impact of religious beliefs on health seeking and health provision behaviours among Batswana'. Aspecial issue was published in which she was both author and a co-editor. Ms Kubanji has been a member of the International AIDS Society since 2008 and presented at conferences organized by the society since then. She has also been the General Secretary of the Organization of Social Science Research in Eastern and Southern Africa (OSSREA), Botswana chapter from 2011 to 2019.
