Biografía:

Urge Gerema is a dedicated public health professional with a B.Sc. in Public Health and dual M.Sc. degrees in Health Science and Health Monitoring & Evaluation from Jimma University. With eight years of experience in project management, research, and health systems strengthening, he specialises in monitoring and evaluation, evidence-based interventions, and public-private partnerships, focusing on nutrition, infectious diseases, and reproductive health. As a research associate and Project Coordinator at HANZ Consulting PLC, he managed USAID-funded programs, led evidence gap mapping initiatives, and developed community nutrition strategies. His roles as Cluster Manager (FGAE/WISH Project) and Primary Health Care Unit Director demonstrate expertise in health system management, capacity building, and data-driven decision-making. With 25 peer-reviewed publications addressing global and local health challenges, proficiency in statistical software (SPSS, STATA, and Epi Info), and fluency in English, Amharic, and Afan Oromo, he advances health equity through healthcare worker training, health information system optimisation, and outbreak response. Combining academic rigour, field experience, and research excellence, Urge is a committed public health leader in Ethiopia and beyond.
