Biografía:
Narau is a Maasai woman born in a remote village in Ngorongoro, she has invested most of her time in her community, advocating for the importance of education to the community and the rights of Maasai women and girls. Naraus’ specialty is in wildlife conservation and Tourism from the college of Africa wildlife management MWEKA in Tanzania. Soon after graduating from college education, Narau started a volunteering program in identify girls who are at risk of drop out from a transition period from primary school to secondary school due to early marriage, and other bad cultural practice that prevent them to attend to school, by connecting with schools and finds for sponsorships from friends as well as fundraising from the community she lives, Currently she is a Chief Excecutive Director of Enduata Community Initiative Organization (ECIO) which is a women-led organization dedicated to empowering the vulnerable, marginalized, voiceless, underprivileged or disadvantaged groups, including women, youth and children with disabilities in Maasai communities to achieve better lives for themselves and their families. ECIO tackle the urgent threats to Tanzania’s wildlife, work alongside local communities for sustainable livelihoods that reduce poverty, and provide crucial education support to overcome barriers to growth. ECIO work in many different thematic areas include: 1: Community economic empowerments 2: Environmental and wildlife conservation 3: To Improve Access to Quality and Inclusive Education 4: To support Children with Treatable Disability, Facilitating Access to both medical and rehabilitation services 5: To Facilitate Access to Clean water 6: Climate Change Resilience and Adaptation programs
