- Biografía:
- In 1996, our data collection forms application was the first software to be able to analyze quantitative data from digital inspection processes using pictures, faxes and scanned material. We teamed up with universities to build forms to increase safety, quality and compliance measures with our software engineers field team. We moved unto building an application which creates mobile data collection forms using analysis from mobile team supervisors. The tools developed became a standard industry process. Field data gathering and storage was next. The information that we choose to share with government institutions was nullified because of the data collection software's commercial viability. So we partnered with software engineers who were willing to provide data collected in the field with mobile devices, before cellphones or laptops where a norm. We formulated algorithms that predict maintenance schedules using bar code reading technology. Data collection forms replace paper processes. The paperless movement started and such methods of gathering quantitative and qualitative data using electronic checklists and surveys initiated digital transformation and continuous process improvement approaches in heavy industries. Information analysis became a software engineering term as for before that it was not. We tried to patent our intellectual property but faced lack of funds. As the y2k buzz approached, our field team data collection software was nearing the status of obsolete. Further research and data analysis was needed to prove our efforts worth. So we recruited data collection software specialists to help us out. After many years, digital inspection processes tool analysts joined our field teams as well. An advanced mobile form application was born. The tool to gather behavioral metrics peaked researcher's curiosity and enhanced their data gathering processes in heavy industries for safety and quality audits. Our proprietary data collection software was lacking in the esthetic aspect of comparable digital form creation apps as we merely focused on methods of collecting data using digital forms. We got involved in improving methods of inspection using visual, microscopy, liquid or dye penetrant inspection approaches, advanced magnetic particle inspection in quality control, eddy current testing in some industries, x-ray or radiographic testing which became the first steps in developing computer vision, and ultrasonic testing in civil engineering as well as manufacturing. But there is more.
