Biografía:

I am a public health researcher and health economist with a strong focus on health systems strengthening, infectious disease control, and antimicrobial stewardship in low-resource settings. My work integrates applied health economics, implementation science, and digital health innovations to inform evidence-based policymaking and improve healthcare delivery, especially in rural Malawi. Currently, I am leading multiple research initiatives in Neno District, including: - Evaluating the impact of mass insecticide mosquito net distribution on malaria incidence. - Assessing the economic burden of surgical site infections (SSIs) post-Caesarean section. - Piloting a Community Antimicrobial Stewardship Diagnostic Tool using AI-powered decision support for Health Surveillance Assistants. - Mapping antimicrobial resistance risks in healthcare wastewater using Bayesian geospatial models These efforts contribute to national strategies on antimicrobial resistance, health financing, and primary healthcare reforms (HSSP III). I also support policy advocacy through the Malawi HEAL Fellowship and am developing a PhD thesis that applies spatial modeling and machine learning to forecast infectious disease burden in rural populations.
