Biografía:

Prof Nicholas M. Odhiambo holds a PhD (Economics) degree from the University of Stellenbosch (South Africa). His research profile is broad, rich and multifaceted. During the past 17 years, his research has produced a number of papers, which have been published in various local and international journals. Of these publications, more than 200 articles have been published in more than 66 reputable journals. He has also published one book and three book chapters. He has also presented more than 26 papers at various international conferences/institutions worldwide. In addition, he has more than 80 working papers, which have been uploaded on the UNISA Economic Research Working Paper Series. Prof Odhiambo is currently listed as one of the top authors in the field of economics in South Africa, Africa and even internationally by RePEc/IDEAS (hosted by the Research Division of the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis, USA). According to RePEc/IDEAS, he was ranked number two (2) in South Africa and number six (6) in Africa as of May 2019. He is also currently ranked among the top-5% most-cited and most-read economics authors worldwide – according to RePEc/IDEAS. In addition, he was ranked among the top-5% economics authors with distinct research work world-wide. In the same ranking report, he was also ranked among the top-5% authors worldwide, according to nine (9) other criteria. Prof Odhiambo has supervised more than 33 postgraduate students at various levels. During the past +/- five (5) years alone, he has produced twelve (12) doctoral and 3 Master’s graduates, including three doctoral candidates who are expected to graduate in 2019. He has also mentored a number of developing researchers during the past 8 years, some of whom are now full researchers in their own right. Prof Odhiambo has serves as an external reviewer for senior academic promotions/appointments at the University of Minnesota Duluth (USA), Spiru Haret University (Romania), University of Pretoria, and University of Ghana Business School, amongst others. He has also served as an external examiner for more than eleven (11) universities, which are located in South Africa, Ghana and Australia. He is currently working at the University of South Africa as Professor& Head of Macroeconomic Policy Analysis (MPA) research flagship programme.
