Biografía:

Dr. Woldegebrial Zeweld Nugusse is an Associate Professor in Agricultural Economics and Rural Development at Mekelle University. He has BA degree in Economics from Addis Ababa University; MSc. in Development Management and Economics from Agder University College; MSc. in International Masters of Rural Development (Agricultural Economics) from Ghent University; and PhD in Agricultural Economics and Rural Development from Ghent University. Overall, with good academic performance, he specializes in Agricultural and Rural Economics. He has extensive knowledge and skills in quantitative, qualitative and participatory research approaches, as well as statistical and econometric software. Woldegebrial have also good understanding and experience in conducting and managing large household surveys and socio-economics analysis. He is responsible for teaching, research, project coordination and leadership. His research interests primarily focus on sustainable livelihoods, agricultural policies and institutions, quasi-experimental impact assessment and evaluation, agribusiness, and the valuation of natural resources. Woldegebrial has been engaged in developing, monitoring, managing and evaluating various research projects and community-based development interventions. Currently, he is teaching (supervising) natural resource and environmental economics, applied econometrics, irrigation economics, economic valuation methods and cost-benefit analysis, agricultural production economics, project design and management, socioeconomic and impact assessment, and advanced mathematical economics for master and doctoral students. Moreover, he has progressive publication record in high-quality academic journals in the discipline of agricultural development economics, environmental economics, nutrition and livelihood, and sustainable agriculture. Furthermore, he has good communication skills, and the ability to interact with a multi-cultural and interdisciplinary teams. Therefore, Woldegebrial is not only efficient and competent in his areas but also hardworking, visionary, motivated and powerful force in the workplace and uses his positive attitude and tireless energy to encourage others to work hard and succeed.
