Biografía:
Salma Elgaili Ahmed is a Volunteer at the Materials Science and Nanotechnology Research Center, University of Khartoum (UofK), Sudan, and previously, a Visiting Researcher in the Drug Delivery Lab in the American University of Sharjah (AUS), UAE, and a Research Associate of Biomedical Engineering at Khalifa University of Science, Technology and Research (KU STAR), UAE. She was a First-Honor BSc Graduate of Chemical Engineering, UofK, Sudan, 2011. Then, she was awarded a full-graduate assistantship from the AUS to pursue masters degree in Chemical Engineering, with emphasis on Ultrasound and Liposomal Drug Delivery. Miss Ahmed's objective is to develop systems that facilitate and optimize the delivery of drugs to the targeted areas, in a safe and effective manner. She has co-authored a number of articles and a book chapter, in addition to her participation in a number of conferences, seminars and invited talks. She has won, with her research group at the AUS, the 2nd place in the IChemE Global Awards, 2016, in the category of Research Project of the Year, in addition to winning 3 non-academic prizes in story writing, poetry and broadcasting (2011-2015). In October, 2017, Miss Ahmed is planning to start her PhD studies.
