- Adeola Ayano is a Food Scientist with special interest in processing of wholesome food through value addition, fortification, supplementation and other nutritional avenue to combat nutritional deficiency in Africa. She has a long standing interest in processing and promotion of food crops especially roots, tubers and legumes grown in the tropics. This she does by diversifying their processing chains into healthier, novel and consumer acceptable food products, thus reducing postharvest wastage thereby add significance and importance to the indigenous food. Mrs Ayano has over ten years- experience in food technology, food processing and food analysis. She won a scholarship sponsored by World Bank Centre for Agricultural Development and Sustainable Environment for a PhD degree to study Food Processing and Value Addition at the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta. Mrs. Adeola Ayano also won a Collaborative Research Grant from International Foundation for Science, Sweden. She is the Nigeria’s lead investigator to study ‘Utilization of bambara groundnut in food fortification and value added products’. Adeola Ayano is a team-worker who participated in the 2012 Food Fortification Compliance study in Nigeria which was organized by Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition (GAIN). She is a member of Professional bodies including Nigeria Institute of Food Science and Technology, (NIFST) International Society for Tropical Root Crop (ISTRC) and Institute of Public Analyst of Nigeria (IPAN, Certified Member) Mrs Ayano has presented the results of her research findings at conferences nationally and internationally. She has authored and co-authored more than five publications including peer reviewed journal publications and conference proceedings. She is currently a seasoned Scientists and Analyst at the Central Teaching and Research laboratory, Bells University of Technology, Ota where she also served in several University committees
