Biografía:

Md. Simul Bhuyan is working as a Scientific Officer at the Bangladesh Oceanographic Research Institute. He completed his graduation from the Institute of Marine Science and Fisheries, University of Chittagong. He has almost ten years of research experience. He has hundred (100) articles published in leading national and international journals including Elsevier, Springer,Frontier, and Routledge. He has four books, one of his books published in seven different languages. He has three book chapters published by world-leading publishers. He received a Belgium government scholarship for oceanography training in India and Malaysia. He also received travel grants to attend a conference in Dubai. He participated EKAMSAT Scientific Cruise in the Arabian Sea onboard Sagar Nidhi (SN178) from 28 June to 24 July 2023. Mr. Bhuyan is working on seaweed for the last four years. He published some papers on seaweed. He has also some news articles published by both electronic and print media. He is working as a reviewer of world-renowned journals. He published books on “Corals of St. Martin’s Island, Bangladesh”, “Experimental Cultivation of Seaweed on the Cox’s Bazar Coast”, “Effects of Industrialization on Fish and Fishing Community”, and “Heavy Metals Profile in River”. A book on the taxonomic identification of seaweed on St. Martin’s Island will be published. A pictorial dictionary of oceanography is in progress. Mr. Bhuyan has working experience with many national and international scientists, organizations, and NGOs. He is a member of the Safe Seaweed Coalition, Ocean Expert, South Asian Meteorological Association, Bangladesh Fisheries Research Forum, National Young Academy of Bangladesh, Science Diplomacy and Leadership Working Group, andNational Oceanographic and Maritime Institute. He has experience in data analysis and visualization, report writing, paper writing, and publication. He is proficient in the use of SPSS, ArcGIS, PRIMER, PROBIT, CANOCO, PAST, Surfer, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Web page designing, and Video editing. He is an ocean diver with a logbook fromthe Bangladesh Navy.Mr. Bhuyan is very interested in collaborative research projects. He is interested to work on seaweeds, corals, crabs, microplastics, heavy metals, and other non-conventional seafood. His working area includes marine fisheries, marine biology, marine ecology, marine pollution, and marine environment monitoring.
