Biografía:

I obtained my BSc (First Class Honours) and PhD degrees in Electrical Engineering from Newcastle University, UK in 1971 and 1976, respectively. From 1977 to 1989, I worked as a faculty member at Al-Rasheed College of Engineering in Baghdad, Iraq. Later, from 1989 to 2014, I served at the College of Engineering, Al-Nahrain University, Baghdad - Iraq. During this time, I held various positions, including the Head of the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering and the Department of Computer Engineering from 1992 to 2003, and as the Dean of the College of Engineering from 2003 to 2007. In 2016, I became the Head of the Department of Computer Engineering at Al-Mamoon University College, Baghdad, Iraq, where I worked until 2021. Throughout my career, I spent a sabbatical year at Aleppo University, Syria, from October 2006 to September 2007, and a year as a Visiting Professor at the University of Engineering and Technology, Taxila, Pakistan, from October 2007 to September 2008. I have published over 100 research papers in national and international conferences and journals and supervised more than 80 MSc and PhD theses. I co-authored five chapters in a book, and one book, and translated three textbooks. My current research interests include intelligent optimization techniques, computer-aided design of large electrical circuits, analogue and digital signal processing, solar tracking systems, and the design of smart home management systems. I am a Life Fellow Member of the IETE, India (FIETE), and a Senior Member of the IEEE (SMIEEE). I have also served as Chief Editor and Editorial Board Member for several national and international scientific journals. Additionally, I have reviewed many articles for several national and international journals and conferences.
