Biografía:

Mr. Thomas Songu is an Information and Communication Technology (ICT) professional with over 15+ years implementation experience in strategic management of ICTs spanning the education, finance, media, defence, telecomm, mining and pharmaceutical industries at national and international levels. His considerable involvement in the development and implementation of strategic ICT policies and best practices, project management, Quality Management and corporate planning has given him substantial experience in ICT infrastructure management and has made him acutely aware of sustainable development of ICTs for global public and private sector organizations. As a member of several professional bodies dealing with the development and implementation of strategic IT standards and best practices for global clients, Mr. Songu is intensely aware of how ICT can help all sectors of industry and commerce to be more economical while reducing their impact on the environment. Thomas is currently working as the Director of ICT, Njala University. Thomas has recently worked as ICT Consultant, through the International Organization for Migration (IOM) funded project with the University of Sierra Leone and Njala University in the area of ICT Capacity Building in tertiary education to Sierra Leone. He has also previously worked as ICT Consultant for leading global companies in the UK, USA, France, Spain, Germany, Portugal, the Netherlands, and the United Arab Emirates (UAE). Thomas previous qualifications are a Bachelor of Science degree (BSc.) in Education with major in Mathematics and minor in Economics from Njala University, Sierra Leone, and a Master degree of Science (MSc.) in Information Systems Management, from London South Bank University, United Kingdom. Thomas is currently a PhD candidate at Njala University. His research topic focuses on ICT integration and access to scholarly online research resources to strengthen teaching, learning and research capacity in Sierra Leone tertiary education.
