- Barbara Gastel teaches scientific writing and related subjects at Texas A&M University. She also coordinates the Texas A&M master's degree program in science communication, and she is first author of the current edition of How to Write and Publish a Scientific Paper. From 2007 to 2018 she held leadership roles in AuthorAID.
