Biografía:

I am an Assistant Professor at Haramaya University, a research and teaching university in Ethiopia, with over 15 years of experience since September 2010. My work sits at the intersection of life science, food, and nutrition. Driven by a simple belief: everyone has the right to a safe and nutritious diet. Over the years, my role has grown beyond the classroom. I teach, conduct research, supervise students, deliver training, and have held several management positions. I also serve as an independent researcher for a research and consultancy firm and work directly with food processing companies to bridge the gap between universities and industry. My expertise includes:  Agriculture and food security  Nutrition and public health  Food safety and sanitation  Agroecology and sustainable development  Gender and early childhood development I hold a first degree in Animal Science, a second in Applied Human Nutrition, and a third in Life Sciences, specializing in Food and Nutritional Sciences. I have four independent published research works, alongside ongoing collaborative research. I have strengthened my work through advanced training, including agro-ecological approaches to environmental sustainability, food systems approaches to nutrition, and nutrition-sensitive agriculture from Tufts University; scientific writing and publications from INASP Moodle; and courses on feeding a hungry planet and early childhood development from the SDG Academy. I am an active member of several professional networks, including the Food Security and Nutrition Network, the Agriculture, Nutrition and Health Academy, the Sustainable Development Solutions Network, the Micronutrient Forum, the Planetary Health Collective, OWSD, the Association of African Universities, and AuthorAid. Alleviating poverty and building a safe future drive everything I do. I am always open to connecting with recruiters, researchers, and organizations working toward the same goals.
