- Biography:
- I am a healthcare professional having an MBBS medical degree combined with a Postgraduate Diploma in Health Sector Disaster Management, Master of Science in Community Medicine, (MSc) and Doctor of Medicine (MD) in Community Medicine, General certificate in Psychology, Higher Diploma in Teaching Methodology and Education Management with a strong focus on the delivery of quality healthcare in the field of public health. I earned a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery degree (MBBS) from the Faculty of Medicine Ragama, University of Kelaniya, Sri Lanka. I have experience in both curative and preventive medicine during the last 10 years and currently working as a Senior Registrar in Community Medicine, undergoing post-MD local training in Family Health & Nutrition Communication and Behaviour Unit, Health Promotion Bureau, Ministry of Health, Sri Lanka. Previously I served for the Department of Community Medicine, Faculty of Medicine, Ragama, the University of Kelaniya as an MD trainee/Research Fellow [2018-2020]. Besides, I have served as leading curative sector healthcare institution, Medical officer of health area and Regional director of health service for disaster management as a disaster management coordinator and a focal point. Furthermore, I have conducted a number of research, projects, and programs as a disaster management focal point and Registrar in Community Medicine during the last seven years.
